About Dundee
Dundee, a major industrial city, royal city and port in eastern Scotland, is Scotland’s fourth most populous city. The municipal area of Dundee City in the historic county of Angus. About 8 kilometres north of Edinburgh, it is on the north shore of the mouth of the North Sea.
The front of Dundee on Tay is over 8 miles. The city stretches from the River Tay to the River Dundee and is a striking volcanic bung 174 meters high. With the decline of traditional industries, the city has adopted a plan to convert it into regeneration and cultural centre.
Dundee’s international profile has grown in recent years. Dundee was named “Britain’s Coolest City” by GQ Magazine in 2015, and the Wall Street Journal ranked Dundee #5 in its 2018 “Most Popular Travel Destinations in the World” list.
