Glasgow, Gaelic Glaschu, city, west-central Scotland, is situated along both banks of the River Clyde, 20 miles from its mouth on the west or Atlantic coast. Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and forms an independent municipal area that lies entirely within the historic county of Lanarkshire.

The city occupies a large part of the lower Clyde valley, and its suburbs extend into the surrounding counties. Glasgow’s major cultural institutions include the Burrell Collection, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Scottish Ballet, and Scottish Opera. It is the fifth most visited city in the United Kingdom.

Glasgow became one of the wealthiest cities in the world. Glasgow is an exciting city, and the people are lovely. It has a lot to offer in terms of architecture, art, and culture, not to mention some pretty good shopping and excellent hotels and restaurants.
